PWL Partnership takes top honor for data-driven approach to sustainable public space design.

In the landscape design category of the inaugural Creative Genius Awards, global design and BIM software provider Vectorworks has recognized projects that demonstrate how digital workflows can advance both sustainability and aesthetics in the built environment.

The competition, which drew hundreds of international submissions across architecture, interiors, landscape and entertainment disciplines, awarded PWL Partnership the top Creative Genius honor for its work on Promontory Park. The jury cited the firm’s ability to meet and exceed sustainability objectives without compromising design quality—achieved through a hybrid Vectorworks landscape model that integrated scripting, GIS data, terrain modeling and internal libraries into a single workflow. The approach enabled real-time tracking of key metrics while shaping an accessible public realm.

“Each Creative Genius Award winner exemplifies what’s possible when technology meets vision,” says Tamsin Slatter, Vectorworks director of customer experience. “Their work advances design in their own disciplines and sets a benchmark for how Vectorworks can be used to solve complex, real-world challenges.”
In the landscape category, Design Innovator honors went to Nick Züchner for BIM in Landscape Architecture and Jim Rounsevell for Twisted Pretzel (Waisen Bridge Concepts). Winners receive prizes including $5k, certification and industry event passes.

The awards were evaluated by a panel of Vectorworks executives, industry experts and creative professionals based on design quality, originality, effective use of the software, presentation and sustainability.
