Weiser Community Park & Greenway

As part of the Weiser Lock Company factory site redevelopment, PWL developed the overall open space master plan for the Weiser Community, including a series of open space corridors to link greenspaces, parks and the Weiser community to the surrounding neighbourhoods. The Community Park was designed to reflect the industrial heritage of the site. The built form of the park shelter and the sculptural interpretation of the smokestack recall images of the Weiser Lock buildings. The use of scored concrete as a building material for the walls and paved surfaces further enhances the industrial feel. The design included a multi-age play area, comfortable seating, and a rich palette of planting material. Burnaby, BC, Canada
