Cheryl Bouwmeester

Cheryl brings nearly 20 years of experience and a breadth of expertise spanning design, technical delivery and construction. She is known for her calm, considered leadership and the strong relationships she builds with clients and project teams. Her expertise in construction and quality management gives her a practical understanding of how ideas translate into built work, informing her design thinking from the earliest stages of a project. She brings that knowledge to projects of many types and scales, with a focus on design quality, constructability and how landscapes will perform over time.

A lifelong learner, Cheryl continually expands her own knowledge while creating opportunities for others to do the same. At PWL, she has played an important role in strengthening mentorship, communication and practice standards, supporting designers in developing their interests and expertise. She is particularly interested in more sustainable approaches to materials and construction, reuse and adaptation, and the long-term life of the landscapes we design.

Outside the studio, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her young family, tending the garden, tackling her latest DIY home project or heading outdoors for a camping adventure.
