leləm̓ Community Centre & Childcare

The leləm̓ Community Centre and Childcare space is an Indigenous-led project at the heart of Musqueam’s new community, providing essential spaces for gathering, learning, and care.

Integrated within the broader leləm̓ village, the facility is closely connected to surrounding housing, parks, and commercial areas, creating a cohesive and accessible community hub. Outdoor spaces extend the building into the landscape, supporting a range of activities and reinforcing connections to the forested setting.

PWL contributed to the landscape design, ensuring that outdoor gathering areas, play environments, and circulation spaces reflect the cultural and ecological values embedded throughout the community. The landscape supports the integration of a site-wide public art program, reinforcing connections to Musqueam identity. The design supports both everyday use and special events, offering flexible spaces that serve multiple generations.

As part of a complete community, the facility plays a vital role in supporting social connection, cultural continuity, and community well-being across generations.
