leləm̓ Forest Park & Play Environments

Nestled within a mature forest, the leləm̓ play environments are designed to foster play, creativity, and connection to nature.

Located adjacent to the community centre and integrated into the broader leləm̓ village, these spaces are embedded within the forest landscape. Play areas are designed as immersive environments, where children can explore, learn, and engage with the natural character of the place.

A series of outdoor play spaces—including ground-level areas and an elevated terrace—offer diverse experiences that support physical activity, creativity, and social interaction. Custom play features reflect the values and design language of the overall community, reinforcing continuity across the site.

Pathways and connections link these areas to the surrounding parks and forest, creating opportunities for children to experience the landscape as part of their daily lives. The design emphasizes curiosity, exploration, and a strong relationship to place while supporting early connections to nature and community life, within a broader landscape shaped by cultural expression and storytelling through Indigenous art.
